Description: “Puck” Puppet Theater from Cluj-Napoca was founded in 1950 having from the very beginning two departments: Romanian and Hungarian and most of the performances are addressed to children.
Since 2002 “Puck” Theater is organizing the only puppet international festival in Romania at which important puppet theaters were invited, both Romanian “Tandarica” from Bucharest, the Puppet Theater from Arad, “Ariel“ from Tg. Mures, “Vasilache” from Botosani, “Gong” from Sibiu, “Colibri” from Craiova, “Luceafarul” from Iasi, “Gulliver” from Galati, and foreign: “Griff”, “Bobita”, “Harlekin” from Hungary, “Poopik Theatre” in Israel, “Lele Theatre” in Vilnius Lithuania, “Dusko Radovicz” Belgrad, Serbia “Licurici” from Chisinau, Moldova.

Description:
The scope of the national festival competition of folk music dedicated in the memory of Liviu Vasilica is discovery of new Romanian folk values.
The Song and Dance Ensemble ’’Liviu Vasilica’’ from Romania, Teleorman County, came into being in 1991, owing to great lovers of the Romanian folk art. They carry on their activity near the County Centre for Cultural Teleorman. The Ensemble is made of 50 people, and participated at over 30 tours and festivals in the country and abroad.

5. THE „GORJFEST” CAMP OF ARTISTIC PHOTOGRAPHY AND DOCUMENTARY FILM

6. NATIONAL CONTEST FESTIVAL OF HUMOUR „OLTENII &...RESTU’ LUMII” (« The Olt inhabitants …and the Rest of the World »),
is one of the main festival of this type from Romania, organised at Slatina, situated on E 60 at 200 km from Bucharest.
They are participate the most famous interpreters of humour, sketch , epigramm and make from Slatina a true capital of laugh and happy .
The festival has 2 sections: Sketch and literary creation (epigramm and short humouristical prose)
The visitors are invited at the custom of Olt river, at Slatina entrance , with fanfare and carriage dragged by horses and the hosts are given passports of „Oltean people” them.
There is a tirg of popular artisans from all areas of Romania .
The local preparates : raisin juice called „must” and salt smoky meat with polenta on the pottery plates are a few attractive points of this festival.
In Slatina are available aprox. 300 accomodations places, with many restaurants having local and european specifics, bars, pubs.

8. SUMEDRU’S FIRE

Description:
Sumedru’s fire is a unique traditional custom in the Romanian culture, with a powerful funeral character. It takes place each year on the night of 25th to 26th of October. Accordingly to the Romanian tradition, Sumedru represents a mythological figure, the master of winter.
Sumedru’s fire symbolizes the script of death and the annual rebirth of nature divinities.
The children from the village are searching through woods and orchards for branches and dry leaves but also for tree trunks, which they will use to build a big pile. The fire is light up at night fall. When the fire gets big enough, the children begin screaming: “All of you come to Sumedru’s fire!” This incantation is an invitation for villagers and tourists to take part in this traditional event.
Burning coals, ashes and other elements remaining from the funeral pile are taken by the villagers to fertilize their fields and orchards. The incantations and the burning pile, together with a watch ritual lead to a ceremony whose purpose is to win the ancestors goodwill in order to ensure good crops.

At a distance of 98 km north from Bucharest, 81 km from the “Henri Coanda” International Airport (Bucharest) and 87 km from Brasov, Valenii de Munte is situated on DN1A (Highway 1A), taking advantages of access railways (Valenii de Munte railway station is on the route Ploiesti-Maneciu).
Description:
Valenii de Munte is situated in a hill area where is produced tuica (plum brandy), a bachic delicious beverage obtained of the fruits of plum trees. Therefore in the centre of the manifestation is Tuica Festival (Plum Brandy Festival) where annually participate more than 60 producers of plum brandy all over the country, competing to win the contest’s title of the best producer.
The guests from everywhere can also enjoy the authentic folklore by the National Contest of interpreting Romanian popular music “Irina Loghin”, Agricultural-Industrial Products Fair, exhibitions of popular art and handicraft products, the show of the popular Romanian costume in the region, fanfare music, dancing evenings, but also the never-failing degustations of plum brandy.

12. “BACHUS” WINE AND VINE FESTIVAL
– Date: in 2007, between 26 - 31 Octobers, there will be the festival’s 8th edition.
– Location: It will take place in Focsani, in „Nicolae Balcescu” Park, with over 500 participants.
– It is a national and international festival, promoting wines from Vrancea county and from Romania, containing the following sections:
