Adventure tourism is a type of niche tourism involving exploration or travel to remote, inaccessible and possibly hostile areas, where the traveler should expect the unexpected. It may include the performance of acts that require significant effort and grit and may also involve some degree of risk.
Examples of adventure tourism: rafting and rock climbing, tyroliana, paragliding, ski tour, bungee jumping, mountain biking, kayaking, horseback riding, motorcycling.
Adventure tourism, which has grown in popularity in recent years, is one of the ways in which you can spend a holiday or long weekend in Romania.
The Scientific Tourism begins to be an emergent tendency in those developed countries that look for to promote a more
direct and participative way to involve people in the knowledge of the natural world.
Romania has great potential for both scientific and tourism interest in biodiversity( the fourth place in the world
considering the number of caves – about 11 000).
In the conditions of the increase of the incidence of so called “modern civilization diseases” and
of the more accentuated tendency of mixing the holidays with the need for active resting and
reconditioning of organism vital capacities,
HEALTH TOURISM FROM ROMANIA offers the possibility of maintaining the health state, age preventions and control.
Holidays organized in a farm: meals are prepared with natural products and guests are entertained with handicraft,
sporting and agricultural activities. (Source: DIFID)
Pilgrimage is a spiritual tradition found in the history of nearly every major religion.
Though we've already heard that the Magi's journey is considered by some to be the first Christian pilgrimage,
others have argued that Christ himself was the first pilgrim and that his journeys (and the way he interacted with the world)
can serve as a model for our own travels.
"Religious tourism" became popular in the Middle Ages.
Today, the old pilgrimage sites have begun again to attract masses of pilgrims,
the difference now being that the pilgrims also come across tourists on holiday.
The tourism for hunting and fishing , also known as niche tourism is a form of leisure tourism , as regarding a way to spend the time in one beautiful manner , in the middle of nature , seeing gorgeous landscapes . This tourism has at base one hobby, so it is a tourism alone or with groups to participate in hobby interests, to meet others with similar interests, or to experience something pertinent to the hobby.
Romania is a major wine country in Europe with rich historical and cultural traditions. As legend says, the god of wine was born in Thracia, the present territory of Romania. Wine has been produced in this area since the 7th century BC. The abundance and fame of the Dacian (as this part of Thracia was called) wines were so well known that in order to put an end to the migratory people’s incursions, the Dacian king Burebista (1st century BC) ordered all the vineyards to be destroyed. Of course, not all the vineyards were uprooted and soon many of them were replanted. After Dacia was conquered by the Romans (106 AD), all coins issued by the victors were minted with the new Roman province represented as a woman to whom two children were offering grapes, a symbol of the regions main riches.
There are a couple of narrow railways scattered around the county, but in present they are not functional.
There is a project for the rehabilitation of the Tirgu-Mures- Band- Mihesu de
Campie railway which could offer a unique experience of an overview of the Mures countryside.

One of the greatest values of Covasna County is its rich history. As a buffer region for Otomans, Slavic and Western peoples,
it got a touch from each cuisine. Have you tried a bean soup served in a bread loaf, cabbage rolls, mici or polenta? If yes,
don't believe you know what they are like. At us everything tastes different because it is made by US; some Hungarian, some
Romanian, some Saxon, some Turkish, some catholic, some reformed, some Jewish, some orthodox, some armenian....
All these specialties turn up on huge feasts such as the Sausage Parade, the Polenta Festival,
Hunter's fest, or the Pig-Sticking Feast.
