The numerous lakes, moors, Danube river and the Black Sea offer an extraordinary basis for fishing tourism.
Entertaining/sport sea fishing may be very attractive both on the beach or dikes, but also from boats. In order to do sport fishing at the Black Sea it is possible to rent various types of boats in most of the marinas around the sea (Eforie Nord, Mangalia, Neptun-Olimp, Portul Tomis, Midia). Another fascinating and spectacular type of fishing, i.e. the underground fishing, is still a project waiting to get a legal basis.
The continental plateau may be divided into 3 distinct areas: a first area with a depth of around 12 meters, exposed to the waves and therefore good for fishermen but not constantly; a second area that goes to a depth of 70 m and is ideal for fishing boats; a third area, 70 m-230 m deep where the water is very little oxygenated and very poor in fish.
Fishing in lakes and moors is fun and the fishermens patience is very well rewarded. Access is allowed in the following lakes in Constanta County:
ZARGUZON LAKE
Distance between Constanța - Zarguzon Lake: around 16 km
Zarguzon is a sweet water lake that resulted further to diking a section of Techirghiol lake. It has species of fish such as: roach, perch, crucian and even carp. The administrators of the moor do not collect taxes for the fishermen that catch only perches because this species is so numerous now that it might destroy the ecological balance.
CORBU LAKE
Distance between Constanta Corbu Lake: around 28 km
Near the lake, a wooden chalet has been recently built offering reasonable rates for rooms with 2, 3 and 4 beds. Besides fishing , the nature lovers can spend their spare time in many ways, such as playing football near the chalet or canoeing.
Fish species: perch, carp and crucian.
AGIGEA POND
Distance between Constanta Agigea pond: around 12 km
Near Agigea pond there is another water area, much smaller but also populated with fish (especially small crucian)
Other fish species: perch, crucian and carp.
MAMAIA LAKE (SIUTGHIOL)
Distance between Constanța Mamaia lake: around 8 km
On the lake shore there are many entertainment facilities such as: restaurants, discos, tennig grounds, terraces, accommodation facilities, piers for boats etc.
Fish species: bream, rudd, sheat fish, perch, crucian, carp and frog fish.
TAȘAUL LAKE
Distance between Constanța - Tașaul Lake: around 23 km
Many people who know the area prefer to fish on the shore section named Sheep Tongue. Others say that the best places for fishing are near Sibioara farm. Here one may fish mostly sheat fish.
Fish species: perch, crucian, sheat fish, carp, rudd, bream. The frog fish has become very frequent adjusting excellently in sweet water.
DANUBE RIVER
Fishing has a long tradition in all localities situated on the Danube river shore. The fishing area are situated along the right bank of the Danube river from Ostrov to Harsova and along the Danube Black Sea canal. The Danube river is among the most tranquil and picturesque fishing destinations in Europe and abundant with game fish. Fishing for pike, carp, catfish, zander, roach, bream and perch is open for most of the year except for the short spawning period in April and May. In some localities the one interested can find expert fishing guides among the inhabitants of the Danube localities. Various sizes of boats and specialised equipment can be often found in these localities. The trip will also enable the tourist to experience some of the local culture and cuisine.
Objectives pursued in the development of fishing tourism should consider:
Balanced and responsible exploitation of live aquatic resources in the natural basins, encouraging a sustainable development and taking the necessary measures in order to protect, preserve and regenerate these resources and the aquatic eco-systems.
Modernization of the Black Sea fishing fleet and implementation of the statistic reporting mechanism on catching and discharge of fish or other live aquatic resources. Arrangement of fishing ports and fish unloading points. Supporting the producer organizations in order to increase the efficiency of fishing.
The development of fishing tourism on the Danube is a priority for Constanta County. The local authorities in the localities near the Danube showed a special interest for the development of this branch. The rehabilitation of the Danube ports or the establishment of new fishing ports were proposed in order to facilitate the access to the Danube.
Another proposal meant for the economic development of the south-western part of Constanta County aimed at developing a port in Ostrov. It will have a major importance also for the Romanian-Bulgarian border area, leading to the creation of new jobs in the area and the development of new economic activities. In this way, the exodus of the labor force to the urban areas in the county will be avoided.
In Basarabi, it is proposed to develop a port that will have a special impact on tourism in Constanta County and in the town. Basarabi is important both from the economic and tourist point of view, as in the area there is an important historical and cultural objective, i.e. the rupestral ensemble, the famnous Murfatlar vineyard and the Danube-Black Sea Canal.

Posada THE HUNTING MUSEUM
The tradition of hunting represents a solid component of the Romanian material and spiritual civilization, its original ad diverse forms of manifestation relying on the richness of the fauna characteristic for the area between the Carpathians, the Danube and the Black Sea.
The main elements of hunting must be sought in the distant past when the pragmatic side of this occupation blended with the toteism of primitive beliefs, in an universe dominated by the mystic solidarity between hunter and game (Mircea Eliade). A plethora of zoomorphic symbols engendered over the centuries the fabulous Romanian epic world where the mythical element often speaks of hunting adventures. The definition of hunting today cuts across the simple action of subduing the wild beast, implying also the thrill of passion, the rigorous observance of the laws governing human economy and the sensitive mechanic CONCEDIU of nature.
Initially conserved for their alleged magic qualities, used as ornaments or swapped for weaponry or tools, hunting trophies have continued over the centuries to preserve their symbolic value. For the person having obtained such a trophy its significance includes more than strictly material aspect, being doubled by the mysterious throb of memory relived.
Beyond their sentimental and aesthetic dimension, hunting trophies horns, skulls or furs represent a correct indication of the evolution and biological potential of a certain geographic area.
Moreover, they can be involved in hunting competitions, being subject to attentive expert eyes that gauge them according to criteria rigorously worded by the International Hunting and Game Protection Council, established in 1930. One of the members of this organization is Romania.
By their participation in numerous international exhibitions of hunting trophies, the Romanian hunters have never ceased to envice their preoccupation with the correct administration of the populations of wild beasts and the conservation of the bio-diversity. The impressive number of medals and the recognition, several times in the past sixty years, of the quality of world record for the most representative species of big game in Europe confirm the special richness of the Romanian fauna. Thus, the celebrated Hesshelmer trophy obtained in the Fagaras Mountains has been holding the absolute record for chamois horns from 1937. Also, this country resumed its world supremacy in brown bear skull trophy in 1997.
The opening of the Posada Hunting Museum of the Carpathians, in 1996, throws a bridge to the Romanians hunting traditions. Mention should be made here of the fact that the first National Hunting Museum was created in 1931, in the Carol I Gardens of Bucharest. At that time it was the second cultural establishment of this kind in Europe. Unfortunately, after more than ten years the museum as well as its priceless collection, was destroyed by a fire.
The Hunting Museum of Posada displays, in a most adequate arrangement, varied hunting exhibits, including impressive collections of trophies, works of arts, specific hunting tools characteristic for several stages of human development.
True galleries of art, the halls of the museum catch the visitors eyes both thanks to the considerable number of exhibits and the distinct personality of each piece, from the ebony and ivory forest of roe deer and stag horns, to the comprehensive panoply of wild boar fangs or the harmonious, rich pearly quality and colour contrast of roebuck horns. From the category of predators stand out the furs of wolf, lynx, bob cat and, above all, bear, giving an inkling of the vigour and number of these populations of wild animals.
The art of hunting finds thus a formidable expression in the Hunting Museum of Posada that puts forth numerous assets of this occupation in Romania against a backdrop of genuine aesthetic and cultural emotion.
